أنا ابنُ جلا وطلّاعُ الثنايا ... متى أضعِ العمامةَ تعرفوني
Meaning: I am the son of the clear dawn, the climber of the high mountain passes; when I lay down my turban, you will know me.
Origin: Opening line of a poem by Suhaym ibn Wathil al-Riyahi, an early Arab poet of the Banu Tamim. It became famous when al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf quoted it at the start of his sermon to the people of Kufa, and it is still used today to announce a bold, self-assured arrival.
